Mr. Childress is one of the presenters for Workshop M5, “Construction
201—Understanding the Processes and Related Risks,” on Monday. Mr. Childress
has thirty years’ experience concerning heavy construction and mining safety
and health, human resources, and environmental issues. As a training
consultant for Zurich Risk Engineering Capabilities Development Team, he is
responsible for creating training and mentoring trainers in a variety of
fields.
Prior to Zurich, Mr. Childress served as risk control training manager at
St. Paul Travelers Construction Risk Control. He was responsible for
developing and overseeing delivery of training to more than 6,000 customers
a year.
As regional risk control supervisor, Mr. Childress held oversight of
safety and risk management services to large construction firms throughout
the western United States.
Mr. Childress began his career in 1982 at Maryland Casualty as a loss
control specialist, with responsibility for loss control services to
construction, health care, broadcast media, manufacturing, and
municipalities.
Mr. Childress earned his bachelor’s degree in criminology at St. Leo
University.
