Dan Knise

Mr. Knise is president and CEO of specialty broker Ames & Gough; as well as an equity partner in the firm. He has extensive experience with design firm, construction and law firm professional liability risk management and insurance placement. He previously worked with an investment group that founded Restaurant Insurance Corp., served as a consultant to Palmer & Cay (now Wells Fargo Insurance), and served as president and CEO of the Washington/Baltimore bid for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. He also was a managing director and board member of J&H Marsh & McLennan (the firm formed when Marsh & McLennan bought Johnson & Higgins in 1997), was employed by Minneapolis-based SJ Groves and Sons, and served as director of Collective Bargaining for the Associated General Contractors of America and as a labor negotiator and human resources professional for ALCOA. Mr. Knise is a graduate of Cornell University.
