Daniel Murphy

Mr. Murphy is copresenting Workshop M1, “ABCs of the Construction Process,” on Monday. As vice president of Construction Management at Zurich, he has overall responsibility for the service delivery of all functions across the Construction business group, including the underwriting, risk engineering, and claims disciplines. This also includes responsibility for shaping Zurich's strategic approach to service as a significant differentiator in the construction industry.

Mr. Murphy is a national construction industry risk control and customer services expert. He is renowned throughout the industry as an advocate for job site safety, training, and service excellence. Mr. Murphy's risk engineering expertise and marketplace credibility link him to most major construction industry businesses.

Mr. Murphy is the recipient of the National Safety Council's highest individual award. Mr. Murphy is currently very active with many industry associations and with university training programs for construction education. He has held leadership positions with the Construction Safety Council and was appointed by the U.S. Dept. of Labor Secretary Elaine Chao as one of five employer representatives who currently serve on the agency's Advisory Committee for Construction Safety and Health.
