Mr. Marcellino, panel moderator for Workshop W3, “Managing Risks on
High-Profile Projects—A Case Study,” on Wednesday morning, is a senior partner
based in the New York office of Wilson, Elser, Moskowitz, Edelman & Dicker LLP
and is a long-standing member of the firm’s Executive Committee. He has more
than 32 years of legal experience, including trial, litigation, arbitration,
and negotiation of various complex cases including commercial matters, professional
liability cases, construction and insurance disputes. Mr. Marcellino has authored
and contributed to a number of articles and has lectured for various state and
national bar associations, professional organizations, universities, and the
insurance industry. He has covered such topics as risk analysis and risk management,
loss prevention, dispute resolution, catastrophic response, and insurance coverage
issues. He has managed one of the largest OCIPs in the United States for more
than 18 years.
He often speaks at seminars in London and the United States on construction
and insurance. He was an original member of the Steering Committee for the Eastern
Region of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society and has served as
General Counsel to the Registered Professional Liability Underwriter Program.
He received the Founder’s Award from PLUS in 1998 in recognition of his contribution
to the industry. Mr. Marcellino also is a certified mediator for the United
States District Court for the Southern District of New York and was recognized
by the Court in 2003 for his activities as a mediator. He was admitted to practice
by the New York Bar in 1976, and his certifications include U.S. District Court,
Southern, Western, and Eastern Districts of New York; U.S. Court of Appeals,
2nd Circuit; and U.S. Court of International Trade. His professional memberships
include the New York State Bar Association: Section on Insurance, Negligence
and Compensation Law; Section on Trial Lawyers, Committee on Lawyers’ Liability
and Responsibility; Professional Liability Underwriting Society, Eastern Region
Steering Committee. He holds B.A. and J.D. degrees from Fordham University.
