W. Meade Collinsworth

Mr. Collinsworth, a copresenter for Workshop M6, “Fundamentals of Contractual Risk Transfer,” on Monday, is the president of Collinsworth, Alter, Fowler, Dowling & French Group, Inc., which is one of the largest agencies in the state of Florida when it comes to insuring design professionals and contractors. Mr. Collinsworth currently holds the designations of CPCU, ARM, AIM, AAI, and CRIS. He has over 40 years of experience in the insurance industry, concentrating in the areas of management and professional liability. He is associated with numerous professional organizations, including a/e ProNet (one of the leading providers of assistance on professional liability issues to architects and engineers), the South Florida CPCU Chapter, the national Society of CPCU, and the Florida Association of Insurance Agents, where he was the past chairman of the Education Committee. Mr. Collinsworth has also been a past president of the Independent Insurance Agents of Miami-Dade County and the CPCU Society of South Florida. He is a frequent lecturer on topics ranging from builders’ risk insurance and contractual liability to owner-contractor’s protective liability, insurance issues for joint ventures and architects and engineers professional liability. Mr. Collinsworth has also published numerous different works on topics such as insurance for architects and engineers professional liability, and design-build insurance for contractors.
