Mr. Becker is a panelist for Tuesday’s General Session, "Double Down: Winning
Strategies from Leaders in Construction Risk Management." He is the North American
Practice leader for the Willis Construction Practice. This practice represents
Willis’s largest area of expertise. The group has significant construction teams
in over 40 offices in North America, which service clients in all areas of construction.
The practice focuses on Surety, Risk Management, Habitational, Alternative Risks,
Project Programs including Wrap-Ups, and Professional Liability for all types
of construction contractors, owners, and service professionals. With more than
400 dedicated construction professionals in Willis North America, the practice
is the premier provider of construction industry brokerage and risk consulting.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Becker led the Construction Risk Management Group
within the national practice, which spearheads the insurance services of the
group, as well as safety, claims, and alternative programs. This group has primary
responsibility for product development, best practices, major account interaction
and production, and insurer relationships.
In addition to his leadership role in Willis, Mr. Becker is a frequent speaker
at national construction conferences , including AGC, CFMA, and DBIA, in addition
to IRMI. In 2005, Mr. Becker was one of the few insurance executives to testify
before Congress in the wake of the Katrina disaster to urge action on quickly
rebuilding New Orleans by focusing on streamlining litigation.
He has served on the AGC Risk Management Committee for a number of years and
is a past National Director of the Construction Financial Management Association.
He frequently authors articles for various trade publications for both the construction
and insurance industries.
Mr. Becker holds both the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter and Associate
in Risk Management professional designations.
