Warren G. Brockmeier

Editor Emeritus

Mr. Brockmeier is the founder and longtime editor of D&O MAPS. He continues to contribute to D&O MAPS and to provide advice and counsel as editor emeritus.

His career in the insurance and risk management field began more than half a century ago in 1948 with the fire insurance rating bureau in Chicago and included 11 years with an insurance agency and 22 years as a risk management consultant. To fill a void in publicly available information, he originated the Wyatt D&O Survey in 1973, which continues today under the banner of Tillinghast-Towers Perrin. He formally retired as a vice president of The Wyatt Company in 1988, but continued after his retirement to act as a litigation consultant and expert witness, largely on directors and officers (D&O) liability insurance issues. He developed the concept of D&O MAPS as an information resource on the subject of D&O markets and policy forms. Ownership of D&O MAPS was transferred to IRMI in 2001.

Mr. Brockmeier received a bachelor's degree in fire protection engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology in 1948, a juris doctorate from the college of law of DePaul University in 1952, and the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation in 1955. He has served in numerous capacities in the CPCU Society, in his local chapter and on the national level. Currently, he serves as the editor of the quarterly newsletter of the Senior Resource Section of CPCU. Mr. Brockmeier has also served as a director of the Society of Risk Management Consultants. He has written numerous articles on many subjects that have appeared in the CPCU Journal, Risk Management magazine, and other publications.
