As a partner in the law firm of SmithAmundsen in Chicago, Mr. Valentino concentrates his practice in the areas of insurance coverage and liability defense litigation. He has represented primary and excess insurers in a broad spectrum of coverage matters involving auto, environmental, general liability, health, homeowners, professional liability, property, and workers compensation/employers liability insurance. His work includes the preparation of coverage opinions and handling of all phases of litigation of coverage suits in state and federal courts.

Mr. Valentino is a frequent author and speaker on litigation topics. He is also a member of the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA) and the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel and is a former member of the ISBA Insurance Law Section Council and chair on the Subcommittee on Legislation (1997–2000). Mr. Valentino graduated from DePaul University in 1981. He received his juris doctor degree from The John Marshall Law School in 1984.
