Matthew A. Shulman, JD

Mr. Shulman is an executive vice president overseeing Arch Insurance Group’s Executive Assurance and Miscellaneous Professional Liability (MPL) divisions.

EA includes four business units: large commercial group, financial institutions/financial services, growth & middle market, and alternative asset protection. these four groups underwrite directors and officers liability (D&O), fiduciary liability, employment practices liability (EPL), and crime insurance for all public and private commercial companies as well as real estate investment trusts, financial institutions, and asset managers (including private equity firms and hedge funds). In addition, Mr. Shulman manages Arch’s Transactional Risk product lines, which include representations and warranties insurance, tax liability insurance, and contingent liability insurance.

MPL includes a variety of professional liability lines, including miscellaneous professional liability, privacy and network security, accountants E&O, consultants E&O, and large law firm E&O.

Mr. Shulman joined Arch as a senior vice president in June of 2009 and previously managed the Large Commercial Group. Prior to joining Arch, he spent 9 years at Hartford Financial Products, most recently managing their Commercial D&O Department. Prior to Hartford, Mr. Shulman spent 5 years at Reliance National working in various roles underwriting and managing D&O, fiduciary, EPL, fidelity, and representations and warranties insurance. He is a graduate of Cornell University and Fordham University School of Law.
