Mr. Bell contributes articles on insurance coverage for construction liability insurance to IRMI.com. He has been a member of the CGL Reporter Editorial Board since 2014, focusing on construction.

Mr. Bell is an attorney in the Nashville office of Waller, Lansden, Dortch & Davis. His experience includes representing policyholders in insurance-coverage disputes with insurance companies involving the following.

  • Builders risk
  • Commercial general liability (CGL)
  • Commercial property
  • Professional liability insurance

For example, he represented a policyholder in a CGL dispute before the Sixth Circuit affirming the trial court's decision in Forrest Construction v. Cincinnati Ins. Co., 703 F.3d 359 (6th Cir. 2013).

Mr. Bell received his bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University and his law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif, served on the law review, and received scholastic excellence awards in insurance law, among others.

Mr. Bell relies on his previous experience as an insurance claims adjuster and has published law-review articles in the Connecticut Insurance Law Journal, the Construction Lawyer, Appleman on Insurance, Vanderbilt Law Review En Banc, Ohio Northern University Law Review, Faulkner Law Review, and Northwestern Interdisciplinary Law Review, among other publications.
