Gary Kaplan
President, Construction
Mr. Kaplan is president of the AXA XL North America Construction unit. He was hired in 2010 to build XL Insurance’s new North America Construction unit and was appointed as managing director for XL’s Leadership Council in March 2011. He leads a customer-centric construction team focused on building long-term relationships with contractors.
Prior to his current position, Mr. Kaplan spent more than 20 years with Zurich North America Commercial, most recently as president of Construction. His professional career spans more than 30 years, primarily focused in the underwriting management positions of construction and energy. He is a graduate of Northern Illinois University with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and holds the Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS) certification.
