Dennis Gildea

Mr. Gildea has served as head of casualty claims at Everest Insurance and partner at Vogl & Meredith in San Francisco. He previously served in various counsel and executive roles at AIG and was a private practice attorney for more than 30 years.
He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Southern California in 1974 and received his law degree from the University of California at Berkeley, Boalt Hall, in 1977. Following law school, Mr. Gildea entered private practice, specializing in issues of insurance coverage, reinsurance, and related litigation. His work has emphasized insurance coverage issues in the construction industry. Mr. Gildea has written a chapter on contribution between insurers in California Liability Insurance Practice: Claims and Litigation, and previous articles on the impaired property exclusion (March 1992) and the duty to defend (November 1994) in The Risk Report.
