Dallas, TX—Richard A. Clarke, an
internationally recognized expert on homeland security, national security,
cybersecurity, and counterterrorism will be the keynote speaker at the
IRMI Cyber & Privacy
Risk Conference. Registration is now open for the Conference, to be held
on May 16–17, 2012, in Baltimore, Maryland.
Mr. Clarke served the past three presidents, more than an unprecedented
11 consecutive years, as a senior White House advisor and special advisor to
the president for cyber security. Prior to his White House years, Mr. Clarke
served for 19 years in the Pentagon, the intelligence community, and the
State Department. He is currently an on-air consultant for ABC News, teaches

on a range of issues including corporate security risk management and
information security technology.
The IRMI Cyber & Privacy Risk Conference is designed for risk managers,
agents, brokers, underwriters, adjusters, attorneys, and others who must
understand, mitigate, or insure the complex exposures arising from the use
of technology in business. The
Conference
agenda will cover these topics:
- The Cyber Risk Regulatory and Legal Horizon
- Tactics for Contract Risk Management
- The Business and Legal Risks of Social Media and Their Treatment
- Cyber Insurance Policies: A Framework for Coverage Interpretation and Comparisons
- Cyber Risk and Insurance—The Risk Manager's View
- Investigating and Managing Cyber Incidents and Claims
- Small Business Cyber and Privacy Insurance—The Ins and
Outs
- Cloud Computing – The Emerging Risks and their Treatment
Each of the sessions will be presented by a nationally known insurance
brokerage, underwriting, or legal expert who has spent years working in this
specialized field. They will focus on providing practical strategies and
tactics to make certain an organization (or its clients) are properly
insured against cyber, privacy, and technology risks and well positioned to
respond to any incidents that occur.
IRMI President and CEO Jack P. Gibson said, “Most businesses are now so
dependent on the Internet that they cannot function without it, and all
businesses hold sensitive data of others that will lead to liability if
breached. The risks of technology errors and omissions, data breaches, and
website or Internet service disruptions are so pervasive and extreme that
they threaten the very survival of many organizations. Unfortunately, many
companies are not properly insured against the risks and wholly unprepared
to respond to incidents. This conference will help risk professionals
properly manage and insure these risks.”
The registration fee is $699 before April 13, 2012, and $799 thereafter.
