DALLAS—International Risk Management
Institute, Inc. (IRMI), will host the
IRMI Cyber & Privacy
Risk Conference, focused on technology, privacy, and cyber risk
management and insurance, on July 20–21, 2011, in San Francisco. The
conference is designed for risk managers, agents, brokers, underwriters,
adjusters, attorneys, and others who must understand, mitigate, or insure
the complex exposures arising from the use of technology in business.
The Cyber
Risk Conference agenda of 2 full days will cover these topics:
- Cyber Risk and Privacy—Where Is the Market, and Where Is
It Headed?
- Network Security, Information, and Privacy Risk
- Contractual Risk Transfer Strategies
- Emerging Risks from New Technologies and Social
Networking
- Insurance Underwriter Perspectives and Prognostications
- Planning a Data Breach Response
- 10 Ways To Tailor Cyber Coverage for Large Companies
- Cyber Risk Management and Insurance Options for Middle
Market Businesses
Each of the eight sessions will be presented by a nationally known
insurance brokerage, underwriting, or legal expert who has spent years
working in this specialized field. They will focus on giving you practical
strategies and tactics you can use to make certain your organization is (or
your clients are) properly insured against cyber, privacy, and technology
risks and well positioned to respond to any incidents that occur.
IRMI president Jack P. Gibson said, “Every business, governmental entity,
or nonprofit institution in America is now extremely dependent on technology
and the Internet. The risks of technology errors and omissions, data
breaches, and website or Internet service disruptions are so pervasive and
extreme that they threaten the very survival of many organizations.
Unfortunately, many companies are not properly insured against the risks and
wholly unprepared to respond to incidents. This conference will help risk
professionals properly manage and insure these risks.”
The registration fee is $699 before June 16, 2011, and $799 thereafter.
