Karen Reutter Receives Words of Wisdom Award at 29th IRMI Construction Risk Conference

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Karen A. Reutter, Senior Vice President, Aon, was honored with the IRMI Words of Wisdom Award here during the 29th IRMI Construction Risk Conference. The Words of Wisdom, or “WOW,” Award recognizes a speaker who has made an outstanding contribution to the construction and insurance industries by unselfishly sharing his or her risk and insurance expertise with exceptional delivery skills at the annual Conference hosted by International Risk Management Institute, Inc. (IRMI).

The award was presented to Ms. Reutter before an audience of about 1,100. IRMI President Jack Gibson explained why Ms. Reutter was chosen to receive the prestigious award. “She has presented at some of our largest workshops the past few years, and her speaker ratings have consistently been at or near the top for all speakers, and include comments such as 'fabulous,' 'truly impressive,' and 'worth the price of admission all by herself,'” Mr. Gibson said. “Presenting the award to this year’s recipient also has special meaning for me since she once was a research analyst with IRMI. It’s been wonderful watching her accomplish so much in her career and I’m proud to have the honor of presenting the Words of Wisdom award to her."

Ms. Reutter is the twentieth winner of the WOW Award. Previous winners of the WOW Award are insurance agents, brokers, underwriters, risk managers, and lawyers.

The IRMI Construction Risk Conference is the only national symposium devoted exclusively to insuring, bonding, and managing the risks of construction projects. The 30th IRMI Construction Risk Conference will be held November 7-11, 2010, in Nashville.
