DALLAS—The
Management Liability
Insurance Specialist (MLISTM) program has been approved by the board of
the Nevada Insurance
Education Foundation (NIEF) for Jack Barriage Memorial Awards. These
awards, which honor the long time Executive Director of the Nevada
Independent Insurance Agents Association, reward Nevadans who successfully
complete approved insurance industry designation and certification programs.
Completion of the MLIS program will earn a $350 Jack Barriage Memorial
Award. To apply for the award, citizens of the state of Nevada must simply
provide a copy of their MLIS certificate to the NIEF.
“The MLIS program is being received with a great deal of enthusiasm,”
said IRMI president Jack P. Gibson, CPCU, “and we genuinely appreciate this
latest vote of confidence. It is fitting that recipients of the
certification will be given an award named for a past NIIA executive
director since MLIS was designed specifically to give agents and brokers the
confidence, competence, and credibility to effectively sell directors and
officers, employment practices, and fiduciary liability insurance.”
With an introductory rate of $69 per course, the MLIS program is quite
affordable, and, for $15 more per course, insurance CE credit is also
available in Nevada and most other states. This allows agents and brokers to
leverage a nominal CE investment into both a certification and state CE
credit. The self-paced courses and their final exams may be taken from any
computer with Internet access via the state-of-the-art WebCE delivery
platform. For more information about the MLIS continuing education program
and certification, please visit
