Bob Bregman is the principal author and editor of Professional Liability Insurance, a three-volume, 2,600-page reference manual that analyzes medical and nonmedical, D&O, E&O, and employment practices liability exposures and coverages.

He is author of IRMI’s two-part, seven-course MLIS (Management Liability Insurance Specialist) certification program that deals with D&O, EPL, and fiduciary liability insurance exposures and coverages.

Mr. Bregman coedits Employment Practices Liability Consultant (EPLiC), a quarterly journal that deals with the coverage, loss control, underwriting, and legal aspects of employment practices liability. He is also the editor of D&O MAPS, an online publication containing analyses of nearly 300 directors’ and officers’ liability insurance policy forms.

He contributes articles on errors and omissions, employment practices, professional and D&O liability risk management and insurance topics to the Expert Commentary section of IRMI.com.

Mr. Bregman is a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and holds the Management Liability Insurance Specialist (MLIS) certification. In addition, he is a Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU), a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), and holds the Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Associate in Claims (AIC), Associate in Underwriting (AU), and Associate in Loss Control Management (ALCM) designations.

Prior to joining IRMI in 1989, Mr. Bregman, who began his insurance career in 1976, was a liability claims adjuster, insurance company underwriter, assistant risk manager at two Fortune 500 companies, and a risk management consultant at a Big Four accounting firm.

He received a B.A. degree in history from Boston University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and an M.B.A. degree from Northwestern University's J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
