Wrap-Ups: Beyond the Basics from Concept to Closeout
This 2008 seminar has concluded. The information below is provided for
you to see the quality of IRMI seminars and to make plans to attend next
year.
Description
Wrap-up or controlled insurance programs (CIPs) have become a popular way
to insure construction projects. Owners and contractors are sponsoring them
as an approach to improving project safety, reducing projects’ cost of risk,
and obtaining insurance for difficult-to-insure risks, such as residential construction.
Of course, CIPs are no panacea. They are not feasible for every project and
are still unpopular with some contractors. Frankly, a CIP that fails can be
a huge headache. However, they can provide substantial benefits when applied
to the appropriate projects, strongly supported by the sponsor and a capable
administrator, and designed with consideration of all the contractors’ needs
rather than focusing only on the sponsor’s best interests.
“Wrap-Ups” is intended to provide a blueprint for wrap-up success. Our lead
speakers and guest speaker Scott Jensen of AmWINS will identify the most common
causes of wrap-up failure and best practices that can be used to mitigate them.
The seminar will dispel many wrap-up myths and misconceptions while focusing
on the reality of what it takes to make them succeed. You will leave this session
armed with the best practices to do wrap-ups right.
