Associate in Reinsurance (ARe)

Professional designation awarded by the Insurance Institute of America (IIA) upon successful completion of four national exams, two of which are designed specifically for this program and two of which are CPCU courses. The program leading to this designation was developed with the support of the Reinsurance Section of the CPCU Society and with technical and financial assistance from the Brokers & Reinsurance Markets Association. Program completers will gain an in-depth understanding of the reinsurance business as well as a familiarity with primary insurance company exposures, coverages, and operations.
