Jeanne C. Finegan, APR
Jeanne Finegan writes the risk management
brand equity and product
recall column for IRMI.com, and is Senior Vice President of The Garden City
Group, Inc. (GCG), with oversight responsibility for GCG Communications, a division
of GCG. She has more than 20 years of communications and advertising experience
and is a nationally recognized expert in class action, bankruptcy and mass tort
notification campaigns.
Ms. Finegan has provided testimony before Congress on issues of notice and
has provided expert testimony in both state and federal courts regarding notification
campaigns and conducted media audits of proposed notice programs for their adequacy
under Fed. R. Civ. P. 23(c)(2) and similar state class action statutes. Most
recently, she has been recognized by Canadian courts as a legal notice expert.
Ms. Finegan has designed and implemented many of the nation’s largest and
most high profile legal notice communication and advertising programs. She has
designed communications programs for a wide range of class actions and consumer
matters that include product liability, construction defect, antitrust, medical/pharmaceutical,
human rights, civil rights, telecommunication, media, environment, securities,
banking, insurance, mass tort, restructuring, and product recall.
Prior to working as a public relations and crisis communication specialist,
Ms. Finegan worked as a news reporter and public affairs director. Her professional
background includes work as a broadcast reporter, anchor, and public affairs
director for major market radio and television stations.
