DALLAS—International Risk
Management Institute, Inc., is pleased to announce 1,000
construction risk and insurance professionals have earned the CRIS
certification since it was introduced 2 years ago. The Construction
Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS™) certification and continuing
education program was launched in March 2005. Karen Frey of Ashton
Tiffany, LLC, in Phoenix, AZ, is the 1,000th person to receive the
certification.
“In my role as a full-service Risk
Management Consultant, it is critical to stay up-to-date on all
facets of construction risk management,” said Ms. Frey. “Obtaining
the CRIS certification was important to me, because it is essential
to have a more thorough knowledge to serve my clients to the best of
my ability.”
The CRIS certification also has a
continuing education component, which can be satisfied by other
related construction risk and insurance courses, seminars, or
conferences. Ms. Frey added, “I believe the continuing education
component of CRIS will help me stay current on any changes that
occur in the construction risk management field.”
IRMI President Jack P. Gibson, CPCU, ARM, CRIS, agreed and
personally congratulated Ms. Frey. “Having 1,000 CRIS professionals
in the marketplace will certainly help strengthen construction
insurance programs from all angles. Karen and her fellow CRIS
designees have made a strong statement to the construction community
that they understand and are focused on solving the unique risk and
insurance problems contractors face,” said Mr. Gibson. “If I were a
contractor, I would want to know my agent, broker, or consultant had
this specialized expertise.”
The CRIS continuing education program
and certification is endorsed by the Construction Financial
Management Association (CFMA). For more information or to use the
