DALLAS—International Risk Management
Institute, Inc., will host the 27th IRMI Construction Risk Conference
October 29–November 1, 2007, in Orlando. Recommended by the Construction
Financial Management Association (CFMA), Associated General Contractors
of America (AGC), and the National Association of Surety Bond Producers
(NASBP), the IRMI Construction Risk Conference is the only national
symposium devoted exclusively to construction insurance, risk management,
loss control, and bonding. The 3½-day program is designed for construction
industry risk management and financial officers; construction project
owners; and the insurance and surety agents, brokers, advisers, attorneys,
and underwriters who serve them.
The two keynote speakers will be Don Greenland, President and Chief
Operating Officer of Nabholz Construction Corporation; and Craig P.
Damos, Chief Executive Officer and President of The Weitz Company.
The 27th IRMI Construction Risk Conference will feature new curriculum
in 28 workshops facilitated by insurance, safety, legal, and bonding
experts from across the United States. The Conference begins Monday,
October 29, with these workshop topics: Introduction to Contracting
Methods; Builders Risk Coverage Traps; Protecting Your Coverage Rights
after a Claim; Contract Risk Allocation; What’s Hot in Construction
Risk Management?; and Nuts and Bolts of CGL Coverage. Concurrent workshop
topics presented during the remainder of the Conference include Contract
Documents; Risk Management for Residential Developers; False Claims
Act; Reducing Cost of Risk with Enterprise Safety Management; Construction
Phase Strategies for Design Professionals; Wrap-Up Issues; Building

for a Soft Market.
Attendees can save $125 when registering online before August 17,
2007. The entire program (Monday through Thursday noon) fee is $1,450,
or the Tuesday through Thursday noon program fee is $1,350. Contractors
and project owners attending for the first time qualify for a special
first-timers’ half-price registration fee of $725.
