DALLAS—International Risk Management
Institute, Inc. (IRMI), today launched a new Web-based risk management
advice service that provides access to Dr. George L. Head's knowledge,
information, resources, and personal contacts. This new service, which
may be accessed by anyone at absolutely no charge, is available on IRMI’s
Web site: www.IRMI.com. As the inspiration and foundation for the Insurance
Institute of America's Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation,
Dr. Head is highly regarded by risk professionals worldwide. He will
provide advice and suggestions by e-mail to those who pose questions
to him via the IRMI Web site.
“While I’m not an encyclopedia,” said Dr. Head, “I am very familiar
with the resources that can provide answers to many risk management
questions. And if I don't personally have an answer, in my 30+ years
in the business, I've had a chance to meet many knowledgeable people
who can help me out when I am stumped. I may not be able to answer every
question, but I can usually provide direction to someone who can. This
service won't recommend or advocate any one person or organization over
others, but it will outline processes you can use to choose from the
options available.”
George L. Head, Ph.D., CPCU, ARM, CSP, CLU, joined the American Institute
for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters in 1967, where he developed
and maintained the curriculum and examinations for the Institute’s professional
designation programs in risk management and safety. He has earned career
recognition awards from the American Risk and Insurance Association,
the Risk and Insurance Management Society, the Public Risk Management
Association, the American Society of Safety Engineers, the Institute
of Risk Management (British), and the International Insurance Society.
“I've looked up to George since the early 1980s when I studied the
ARM curriculum,” said IRMI president Jack Gibson, CPCU, ARM. “I can't
tell you how proud we are here at IRMI to be able to offer free access
to his vast knowledge and network.” The new service, appropriately called
“Ask George Head,” is located
here.
