Maureen C. McLendon

Maureen McLendon is the principal research analyst for Commercial Auto Insurance and the Classification Cross-Reference. She is also a coauthor of Commercial Liability Insurance.

Ms. McLendon currently contributes articles on automobile insurance to the Expert Commentary section of IRMI.com.

Ms. McLendon holds a BS degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Texas at Dallas and an MBA in risk management and insurance from the University of North Texas. She is a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and holds the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS) designations. Ms. McLendon is an active member of the CPCU Society, having held a number of chairmanships and offices, including president of the Dallas Chapter, regional vice president, national director—South Central Region, chair of the Risk Management Interest Section, and as a member of several national committees and task forces.

Ms. McLendon is a member of the CPCU-Loman Education Foundation’s Loman Club Silver and serves on the Executive Committee of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees. Ms. McLendon is currently serving on the Insurance Institute of America’s ARM advisory committee and the ISO Commercial Lines Industry Liaison Panel.

Before joining IRMI in 1985, Ms. McLendon was an account executive in the special risk department of a major insurance company.
